Privacy Policy

1. What data Car Binder stores

Car Binder stores the following data locally on your device:

• Vehicle information you enter (name, year, make, model, VIN, plate, odometer unit).
• Service and maintenance records you create (type, title, date, odometer, cost, vendor, notes, reminder fields).
• Attachments you add (receipt photos, document files, camera captures), stored in the app's local document directory.
• App preferences and settings.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it using the app's export, share, or backup features.

2. Data we do not collect

Car Binder does not collect, transmit, or store:

• The contents of your vehicle records, receipts, or attachments on any server.
• Your location.
• Your contacts.
• Any account credentials (no account is required).
• Analytics data linked to your vehicle or receipt content.

3. Purchases and entitlement

Car Binder offers a one-time lifetime unlock ("Car Binder Pro"). Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Purchase and entitlement verification is handled by RevenueCat, a third-party service. RevenueCat may collect your app store receipt and device identifiers as necessary to verify your purchase and restore entitlement.

4. Local notifications

If you set a service reminder date or mileage in a record, Car Binder schedules a local notification on your device. This is processed entirely on-device. No reminder data is transmitted to any server.

5. Exports and backups

When you use Export All Data (CSV), Export PDF Packet, or ZIP Backup, the app generates files on your device that you can share using your device's system share sheet. You control where those files go. Car Binder does not send exports to any server automatically.

6. Analytics

Car Binder uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app usage and improve the product. Analytics events are limited to privacy-safe funnel signals such as vehicle created, record created, attachment added, export started/completed, paywall viewed, purchase completed, restore completed, and delete-all completed.

Analytics events do not include VIN, license plate, make, model, year, receipt images, attachment contents, vendor names, notes, exact cost, exact mileage, filenames, or file paths.

Google Analytics for Firebase may collect app instance identifiers, app lifecycle events, general location derived from masked IP address, product interaction events, and in-app purchase event information such as product ID and price. This data is used for analytics and product improvement, not for selling your vehicle data and not for tracking your vehicle or receipt content.

7. Third-party services

Car Binder uses RevenueCat for purchase and entitlement verification and Google Analytics for Firebase for privacy-safe usage analytics. These services process limited technical, purchase, and usage data according to their own privacy policies.

8. Children's privacy

Car Binder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Data deletion

You can delete all your data at any time from within the app:

• Open Settings → Delete All Data to remove all vehicle records, attachments, and exported files from your device.
• Uninstalling the app also removes all locally stored data.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and update the app's store page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
